Each textile artwork in this range is a unique and ethereal handmade piece. Irish wildflowers and soft Irish sunlight create the base layer which I selectively hand embroider over in white thread. I use a fusion of various techniques from crewel stitches to whitework, along with some methods borrowed from traditional Irish styles such as Mountmellick lace work.
This embroidered wall art is mounted in an embroidery hoop and backed with cream felt which has been securely stitched to the base material. The bar at the top of the hoop can slip over a nail or hook for hanging, or you can add a length of ribbon or jute to hang the piece from.
